about.
Who am I? Well, I'm a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in Computer Art from The School of Visual Arts in NYC. I've worked with a variety of studios and advertising agencies, giving me the opportunity to develop the range, experience and versatility needed to take on any project thrown my way. This space is devoted to my ongoing growth as an illustrator/cartoonist and as an outlet for the passion I have for art and film. I'm currently based in New Jersey, a few minutes outside of NYC. I am currently taking on new freelance illustration projects, so please contact me if you are interested in a commission or collaboration!

These days I work mostly with ink, watercolor and gouache. My best friend is a Raphael #2 red sable brush. A few years back I inexplicably signed up for an etching class, which opened the fold gates into the world of printmaking. Since then, you can regularly find me at the printshop creating limited-edition posters and handmade books.

current projects.
ALIEN RAVER - Alien Raver is, first and foremost, an experiment. A mishmash of various drawing styles and narrative modes to help decipher a tale of absurd romanticism. It is the juxtaposition of a series of stories detailing the adventures of our as-of-yet nameless protagonist, the woman that haunts his memories and a neverending herd of clingy chimeric critters.
Three-Armed Squid - A small collective of diverse cartoonists, composed of Kimberly Ku, Estrella Vega, Alden Viguilla and myself, exhibiting work together and creating awesome off-beat comics for the masses.
RAYGUN52 - The recent passage of a law in 2257 prohibits The Company from contracting designers to concept its weaponry. With the recent discovery of time travel and a loop hole in the law, The Company reaches out to Alex Griendling to seek out ray gun submissions from current-day illustrators and designers.
Partners in Design - Partners in Design was founded in 2006 by good friends Shalimar Luis, Laz Marquez and Paul Sahner from a need to give ourselves a new creative outlet aside from work: a springboard for new ideas as well as a mutual support base. The Partners in Design blog has blossomed into a consistent and reliable outlet for healthy critique on personal and professional work and design culture.
